Following is an excerp from a post on one of the threads which I follow. What I would like to know, from those who either work in or are experienced with the software industry, is if this statement is correct with regard to vacations, slow periods, and best sales period:

"2)<the company> employees (management and staff) have busted their buns over the past three years without so much as taking a week off during that time. They deserved some time off to recharge the batteries and by August 16 everyone will be back, rested and ready for the fall selling season and so will our customers, both indivduals and corporate.

The summer is not the busiest time for software sales (very few people around) and September through fall and winter is the best selling season for software and doing major deals. Even with this obvious industry trend that happens every year, our sales have been strong and growing because of our recent success with <product name> . We havea hit product on our hands. A few of us management types haven't been actively on the phones or deal making for 10 days because we have taken some time off. Perhaps that can answer some questions about the quite nature of certain announcements from <the company>. If there is no one to phone, it's because the software industry takes the last week of July and the first 10 days of August off, so this is the best time for our staff to do the same. This will happen again on Dec 17 to Jan 2. Mark that on your calendars."

I've high lighted the sentences which I would like verification of. I've purposely removed the name of the company and their product so as not to distract from the information which I am seeking.

Also, is there a site similar to Edgar for Canadian companies which aren't listed on the American exchanges?

TIA for any and all replies should there be any,

Mike
