Though I agree with your general view of the ongoing trend, I fail to see how you derive economic factors from Moore's Law which only deals with transistor density over time.

I think the real economics is in the declining value placed on engineering component of products. As time goes the engineering premium is factored out leaving only the manufacturing costs which are relatively low and decline somewhat with efficiencies of scale. These two factors combine to result in continuing profitability even though prices decline over time.

The key to these economics is continuing innovation of new products and continuing market growth. If either of these keys fail then trouble lies ahead hence the constant searches for the next killer app/component and the concern over collapsed Asian markets.

Just some idle thoughts from another ne'er-do-well tech investor.
