Among the reason cite for the cancellation of registration also include:

The Coordination Act also amended section 203(h) of the Advisers Act to authorize the Commission to cancel the registration of any investment adviser that no longer meets the criteria for registration. As amended, section 203(h) provides, in pertinent part, that if the Commission finds that anyperson registered with the Commission as an investment adviser is prohibited from registering as an investment adviser under section 203A, the Commission shall, by order, cancel the
registration of such person.

What makes you so sure that the reason for the cancellation of Alpert's registration is what you have indicated, and not the one cited above. I thought only Craig knew him that well to be so sure of these details.

What if this Alpert character was in fact prohibited by the SEC from registration. What do you think might have be the reason for that. May be the reason was that he shorted stocks and then wrote articles in Barrons to drive down the price of the shorted stocks? Or may be he was found to have been working with shorts on the internet to spread misinformation about companies to manipulate their stocks. Or may be other other dirty and sleazy things like that? I do not assume that you would consider that to be a possibility, do you? No, not with our sweet Aplert.
