In a way I hate when things heat up. It brings out the worst in folks. Maybe it's just the full moon. Wound up skipping lotsa posts...
Made some calls up to Mass. last Friday. Figured I'd assault a flank while the rest of the world is going for the frontal assault. My concerns up there, of course, have to do with the price tag; sheet metal on 2 acres being, in my mind cheaper. Well, I can always be reminded not to be to short sighted. In speaking w/the contract operator @ the Carver STP, he says waste is trucked in, the surrounding older communities do not have in ground utilities of this kind. The sight is fairly remote and has been around for a while. It is also the only facility run/owned by Mass Environmental. It is fully permitted. Utilities in place. TT is buying them out.
The advantage seems to be that the existing plant is geared towards processing liquids. Solids, historically, have been shipped out. Forgot the annual cost, my notes are awol. A TMP's advantage is of course the solids...
I think the permits are not assumable directly, as the processing must be expanded to include the solids. It should be easier than working from scratch, however. Would imagine that public outcry would be less. Course you never know...
Still lotsa other questions... Are they buying a profitable outfit...immediately accretive to earnings, as they say? Has Coul greased the environmentalists? Will the TMP/STP combo require additional structures?
Well, enough on this. Don't know if I'll enter the Big Top for the next show, just yet :-)
