One of the major differences is that our securities exchange commissions are under provincial jurisdiction, where you have one SEC under federal law. Each exchange is in a different province, with different regs and standards. Definitely a drawback, but you get used to it. Things are improving, though, as the Canadian investment community comes to terms with the Eighties. ...... cheers
