I have been on my front room church floor countless times in the past due to the tube. At one time, at the first of the movement of God when the electronic church came into being and rode on the coattail of the actual Holy Spirit of the LIving God, at that time the tube was used mightily of God.
If anything is coming out of anywhere that is not massive entertainment, with blasting highly, highly rehearsed entertainment
"praise", usually to sell tapes hopefully, it is sad I can't get that station. There is a really fervent guy on Sunday mornings, and he might be out of Springfield, he's just a very fervent preacher, about 35 or so, with glasses, and very pleasant looking, but he keeps me glued to what he is saying and maybe that's the same guy? His music is gorgeous, and not at all of an entertaining nature, but seems to break through.
I believe I have found a place where God will send the Holy Spirit more and more. Am still in spiritual shock, but I do feel Him, and I feel that incredible still excitement that means He is indeed entering into our midst. It is just a little building set up for a street ministry to the many local going to H in a handbasket types.
The kids are all exclusively in their teen and early 20's, and they did such a pounding carnal guitar thing I rarely could sit through it, but we are breaking through, and it is still a source of wonder and amazement. This crowd is beginning more and more to delight in the incredible beauty of the human voice, and what and where it can go together when the Holy Spirit enters in. THey get on their faces on the floor more and more, and that's a really heavy-duty position people rarely fake. The faked stuff is up in front of the audience, not in the back of the room on the floor, so, it cannot be only in this one little room. Perhaps it is happening other places, and that could have a powerful effect.
The best sign I have noticed is a new dwelling on the 70's. NOT the 60s anymore. The 70's. Well, the 70s were nothing but a whole nation bathing in the fallout of the most powerful Move of God since l906 coming out of Azusa St. mission. Any bread crumb trail leading back there is great. Perhaps they will uncover all the documentaries of the Jesus Movement, and people will see that the difference between these two times, the Old move of God and the "new thing God is doing" are apparently comoing from two totally different spiritual sources. |
