MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 1998--DiviCom Inc. CUBE , a leading provider
of systems for digital television, today announced it has signed an agreement to supply
DIRECTV GMH with compression equipment for its new Los Angeles Broadcast Center
(LABC).

As part of the agreement, DiviCom and DIRECTV are working together to develop a complete
uplink signal processing system to support the DIRECTV(R) programming service.

DiviCom will supply products from its MediaView(TM) family of program encoders, the
MediaNode(TM) multiplexer and the MPEG Media Toolkit(TM). DIRECTV will also be using
DiviTrack(TM), the powerful, cost-saving statistical multiplexing feature of the MediaView MV40
encoder. In addition, DiviCom is responsible for the integration of the Uplink Signal Processing
System.

Steven Orland, vice president and general manager, Los Angeles Broadcast Center for
DIRECTV. "The DiviCom system is a strategic part of the LABC's technical infrastructure. The
