DiviCom Wins DIRECTV Contract; CompressionSystems Agreement Expands DiviCom Presence in North American DBSMarket With New DIRECTV Los Angeles Broadcast Center

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 10, 1998--DiviCom Inc. CUBE , a leading provider of systems for digital television, today announced it has signed an agreement to supply DIRECTV GMH with compression equipment for its new Los Angeles Broadcast Center (LABC).
As part of the agreement, DiviCom and DIRECTV are working together to develop a complete uplink signal processing system to support the DIRECTV(R) programming service.
DiviCom will supply products from its MediaView(TM) family of program encoders, the MediaNode(TM) multiplexer and the MPEG Media Toolkit(TM). DIRECTV will also be using DiviTrack(TM), the powerful, cost-saving statistical multiplexing feature of the MediaView MV40 encoder. In addition, DiviCom is responsible for the integration of the Uplink Signal Processing System.
