taichi - hope you went with the dual mode - what you're going to find in the real world is that even within the coverage area there are "dead spots" that you cannot make or receive calls in that you would be able to in the old "analog" mode. In the northern part of Dallas, Sprint admits they have a problem with coverage but publicly try to blame it on "unexpected demand" which is marekting/PR bovine scatology of the worst sort - but like your uninformed RS salesperson, the answer is wrong and most people simply pass it on as the real thing.
