Perhaps we're making this into a mountain instead of a molehill issue. I was really reacting to the shipping of groceries by Fedex, when the shopper's alternative is driving down to the nearest major crossroads and not paying Fedex's $10 (or more) fee. For grocery delivery, Internet or not, I just don't see it.

For most of Internet commerce, I pretty much agree with you. I'm ordering a new computer hard drive. The warehouse is across the country. The price is super-discount. Sure, I'd pay Fedex to get it here faster, whether I order by internet or 1-800-number. Probably the same story for books, clothing, or gifts. I agree that the broad trend IS in Fedex's favor. (Just not in groceries.)

Thanks for the reply.
