you made a critical point on the demand side. win9x maxes out at 32. having more can speed some things up, but for the most part with win9x, you just dont need more than 32. the OEMs are adding DRAM to units because it is cheap and gives them the ability to maintain certain price points. when it stops getting cheap...well, you already know what happens then<G>.

what suprises me is that cutbacks in production are deemed good. if thats what it takes to hold up the prices, how healthy can the industry be?
