Proteon is strong in remote access router for IBM SNA network enviroments. They were working very closely with IBM on this technology.

They were a key player in the Token Ring adapter market. But this market gave them a very hard time lately because of price presure.

In short term, Proteon could potentially be a target buyout for people like CableTron, 3COM... For the long term, it does not look good.
