Barry :
What is it about a humbling experience that enables a Christian to praise God.?

For me , I like the feeling that God is in control. I had all this money put aside 6 years ago for my son's education, we put him in a private school. I put it in an investment foolishly and the investment went down 75% so I couldn't sell. I maxed out my home equity line to get him through and just as he graduated the investment went back to my purchase price and then doubled, so I paid off the home equity line. But talk about a harrowing four years with a lot of questions and doubts in between.

When it was over I felt like saying, yea, I knew the Lord would pull me out in the end, but when you are in the midst of the storm it's like hanging on to the Loch Ness Monster at Kings Dominion; it takes your breath away.

So when I hear you say "Let him who boasts boast of the Lord", all I can think of is I've got to catch my breath , FIRST. Even to think of the things that I think of when I want to boast of the Lord, causes my heart to skip beats and my breath to become short because it literally brings back many of the insecurities and fears that I felt during those episodes in my life. But, ( deep breath ) He is the God that will deliver out of the midst of the firery furnace, each time, every time. Amen...God Bless you and your family..In Christ...gregor
