Debbie, I'm not familiar with First Stock, but some of these clubs charge a fee for their services which sort off defeats the purpose of a DRIP. I would verify if/what the fees are and decide if it is worth it. You can do the same thing directly with the company without a fee. I think anytime is a good time to start as long as you invest over a period of time (so much a month, etc. rather than putting it all in at one time). That way you don't have to worry so much about a market correction.
I don't know if you noticed but HDI has been strong during these last three weak days in the market. Harley was mentioned in Louis Rukeyser's stock letter and was the Analysts' Choice in Dow Theory Forecasts stock letter Dec 9.
