What kind of research do you want? Accurate research, I assume, unlike some people who only dig enough to be dangerous.

Veridicom and Who?Vision both have their own algorithms to go with their sensors so they are not irrelevant. And Who?Vision's sensor is not a silicon sensor in the sense that Veridicom's, Authentec's, Siemens', or ST's are; it is a silicon sensor in the sense that it uses a silicon camera in it, just like all optical readers do.

The Compaq product not only secures access to a desktop machine, but also to a computer network. This type of authentication is fundamental to any type of transaction that you may want to do. The product is a cost effective solution to a real world problem with administering networks, password maintenance, and can hardly be called low value.

The fact is that both Identicator's and IDX' technologies perform the same fundamental action - to verify a user against a previously stored data record. IDX doesn't have the market cornered on applications that can utilize biometrics to perform a given function. Low cost biometric technology will not be relegated to only performing "low-level" applications; in fact, the affordable cost will drive the development of more and more applications targeted at these types of devices.

You're in way over your head here.
