To All: The CCP leadership conference began this past weekend. News of it in the current SCMP. Must be from there that Jiang made his yuan pronouncement. I had thought the conference was scheduled for this coming Friday. In any case, it appears they got right to one of the central issues.

I have to think that, if the conference ends with no devaluation, we will not see one any time soon.
