George, in your recent article, did you forget about Powerwave (PWAV)? In your article, you stated "Only two companies, the leader Spectrian in Silicon Valley and Microwave Power Devices on Long Island -both hurt by the Korean slump- can make power amplifiers sufficiently stable for the broadband smart radios of the next generation of digital cellular data." I wanted to make sure that Powerwave was not overlooked, because it is actually the leader of the pack now, and is gaining market share while Spectrian continues to lose its share. MPDI is a distant third, but your statement was devoid of mention of PWAV. I understand that it may have been an oversight on your part, but please give PWAV a serious look, because I think that we may be looking at a company on the verge of enormous growth. PWAV was formerly dependant on S.Korea (Samsung, etc.), but now is making amps for BellSouth, Nortel, Ericcson, Metawave, and others, and Lucent may be giving in and doing a major deal with them as well(By the way, look at who recently joined PWAV's board: Bellsouth Chairman Emeritus and the Sprint PCS CEO, and PWAV's CEO joined Metawave's board- all nice footholds for future business). All the information that I have gleaned from the 'undernet' points to PWAV becoming a rapid growth company over the next 5 years. The PCS convention in Orlando this September will be a great chance for all to see the various businesses in the wireless sector, and Powerwave will be there as well.
