Dear Jerry, I am very sorry that you do not understand that God is love. This being part of His nature. My basis for making that statement comes from Holy Scripture. Here is a New Testament verse that says that, "1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."

So Jerry, your argument is not with me but With God and His apostle who recorded the words.

>>>Unfortunately it totally perverts the intent of of the author.
I believe God to be the author of Holy Scripture and man just recorded it as he was moved by God.

>>>The Holy Scriptures, blessed by the Lord, is often interpreted
incorrectly with the intent to convince those weak in the true
faith of God away to ones own point of view.

I certainly agree that some twist Scripture around to fit their desire. Control of the masses was a prevalent thing to do during the dark ages. Those who do it intentionally will have to answer to God. However, there are times when people do it unintentionally. In this case I see no guilt.

>>>The deadly sin lies in the intent of the word "is".

How does one judge anothers intent? That, I think is a judgment reserved for God, for only He knows the heart.

>>>>Were I blessed by my creator to be a High Priest in the temple
at Jerusalem and you came to me and proclaimed "God is Love!"
I would slap your face, grab the first roman that happened by
and would ask him to crucify you! Imatio Dei for sure!

Gee, this sounds very famililar. Isn't this what they did to Jesus. This certainly doesn't sound like an act of love. In this case the high priest would be at fault again.

>>>>> You who speak of GOD and Love in words
untried, untested and certainly unexamined have little regard
for the meaning of words. How dare you say in regard to our Holy
creator those words which I have seen... "God is Love"!

Jerry, it is very obvious that you have no idea of the loving nature of God.

Here are two verses from the OT. " Deu 5:10 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments."

Deu 7:7,8 It was not because you were more numerous than any other people that the LORD set his heart on you and chose you--for you were the fewest of all peoples. It was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath that he swore to your ancestors, that the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

Here are some from the NT. " John 3:16,17 "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him."

Jesus said:
John 14:21 They who have my commandments and keep them are those who love me; and those who love me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them and reveal myself to them."

May God bless your heart by filling it with His love and opening your closed eyes to the truth in Jesus the Christ.

God loves you, Jesus died for you.

David
