I just signed up for the 16.99 deal, and I was told that the first incoming minute is NOT free. But it's still a way better deal than anything else around here. BTW, I had the same experience as others trying to get a dual mode phone. EVERYONE was sold out. Each of the local Radio Shacks had 10 coming in, but even they were being sold before they got in. I was told the reason was that the Sprint special was wildly popular.
