Brad,
You write: "I second everything that Joe Medsker said in his post and I might add that Joe Murphy will most likely be meeting with Howard Isen (sp) of Speer-Leeds (sp) in a couple of weeks."
Don't you think it's about time we just stop talking about some things until we really know what we're talking about? If I read Post 7231 from Bruce the day of the annual meeting and Posts 7443 and 7475 from Joe Medskar since that time, Joe Murphy would have either talked to Speer-Leeds (1) the week after the meeting; (2) the week following the week after the meeting; or (3) by Tuesday of this week (tomorrow). Now its "most likely within a couple of weeks". I'm fairly sure it was Ken Salaets (not Williams ... (?)) who said a few months ago he didn't want to hear anything more about a listing until he can read an announcement about after it's happened. I agree wholeheartedly. We've messed things up about listings before by talking about them on SI and now a lot of continued talk while slipping schedules at the same time is beginning to smack of insincerity (== hype) about DCI being totally serious about going afer one now. (I could go on about this particular issue but I won't. And, of course, all JMHO).
Along this same line, IMO a lot of people on this thread ought to do some more research or at least be pretty darn sure they know what they're talking about before saying things that may have different interpretations just a few days later. A couple cases in point would be: (1) the statement in Post 7510 "I received an E-mail from someone suggesting that some of the selling might be coming from the convertible preferred shareholders. I talked with Joe this morning and he said that is not possible." or (2) the statement in Post 7510 saying the author had never heard of a June target date to have a buyer. We now know a lot more about (1) and regarding (2), I distinctly remember the author posting a June target in the past. I remember primarily because I felt it pretty incredulous for anyone to be thinking things could happen that fast (and I'll go back through every post for 5-6 months to find it if necessary).
I'm not accusing anyone of "playing fast and loose with the truth", but rather I'm saying there are a lot of statements constantly being made that are being proven incorrect later. Much of this is due to speculation or "best guesses" or whatever which is fine but I don't think statements should be made which can be interpreted as "company policy" or coming from the company (or whatever) which are not accurate. Since company representatives no longer post, the people I'm referring to of course are the ones close to DCI management who are continually used as information conduits.
During the same time people are making these types of statements and not ever really being called on them, others are being lambasted evidently because some people on the thread refuse to face some facts and give up some beliefs that had been coming across as the "official party line" for several months. I suspect most people here know the "lambastees" and the beliefs I'm talking about.
I'm certain nothing I said above will result in any (forward) progress in my Dale Carnagie course, but I don't really care. I just want to have as many facts as possible presented to me as forthrightly as possible so I can make an objective decision about whether I want to continue in this stock.
I'm afraid I also won't be able to read or respond to any comments to this post tomorrow because I'll be on the road with a small part of the day (hopefully) being spent talking to Joe Murphy at DCI headquarters about these types of issues.
Dan
[And, if possible, let's try to avoid the childish " ... well you evidently just don't have enough faith (or whatever) so why don't you just sell and go play somewhere else (ggg)". Like most of the others who (at least occationally) ask some hard questions and try to find out as much possible about the company, I want DCI to succeed in the biggest way possible -- I'm sure every bit as much as the "unquestioning" and "totally faithful" do].
[And finally (finally), I'm not going to be too "embarrassed" to come to the "End-Game Party", even if it is in Lubuck (sp), TX during July]. |
