...Since the release of Office this spring, however, Microsoft has
been publicizing its plans for Office 2000 for Windows, with no
announced plans for a Mac version. When pressed, Microsoft
says it has no current plan to add the new features -- including a
new Web-style user interface and full text searching of the
contents of files -- to the Mac. Other top suite publishers,
including Lotus and Corel, sell older-generation products for the
Mac and have no plan to enhance them.
