Dearest John,
Everything we do has to be in the will of God and we have to seek that continually. The scriptures gives us our foundation of rock but our encounters with the lost require His leading. As Nehemiah did we have to be in prayer at all times for His direction and not our own understanding. We have the poor IMO to enable us to reach them in their need to demonstrate the compassion and love of the Messiah. I read in the verse about pearls to swine as the truth if it is denied persistently therefore we are told by the Master to shake the dust not in hostility but just to be wise as a serpent and as harmless as a dove and move on. But eery situation is unique and we need to pray for the wisdom we are promised in James to guide us to bring Him glory. The Lord told us; "In this world you will have troubles" but the next part is my favorite " but rejoice for I have overcome the world" Amen let us all rejoice today for He has overcome everything we can face today and will overcome again through us.
