To All,
Prior to acquiring the internet patents, I believed, and still do, that ACTV's patents are worth $billions. In my opinion, the expectations of their value will continue to grow as the price of the stock increases.
It is conceivable that their internet patents could be equally as valuable. I don't believe, however, that an announcement from ACTV is imminent. I think it would be in their best interest to validate any claims they make about its potential before making a public announcement. I think the internet patents will not only strengthen their eSchool product, but also be used to enhance their digital programming as well.
In addition, I think that the recent agreement between TCI and Scientific Atlanta is extremely positive for ACTV. Remember, GI's DCT-5000 is capable of delivering eSchool directly to the home. Here is an excerpt from an article written by Leslie Ellis two days ago:
"Notably, the order from TCI, which will furnish at least the MSO's Salt Lake City system, is contingent upon S-A making its Explorer 2000 set-top "essentially the same" as General Instrument Corp.'s DCT-5000 set-top, said David Beddow, senior vice president of TCI's National Digital Television Center."
