To all the Jimmy Rogers haters on this board :

Jimmy is an extremely intelligent man. Even more importantly he comanaged the greatest indepentdantly verifiable investment streak that I'm aware of. He comanaged the Quantum Fund during the 70s and very early 80s with George Soros. These guys kicked everyone's butt. They consistently outperformed people like Warren Buffet and Peter Lynch by a very large margin. I don't particularly like some of the things he says, and I agree he dislikes tech stocks (for that matter WB and PL dislike tech stocks also, perhaps all the contributors on SI are wasting our time). I just think he is a rich old man who has gotten too conservative. He is afraid he will lose his money. This is not necessarily a bad thing in the investment world. Jimmy has an establihed track record that blows away any record I'm aware of for other CNBC contributors. I tend to listen to what he says. I don't usually agree with it. But I find it thought provoking. For the record, I"m a retired engineer who has averaged over 100% per annum returns in the last 5 years by using margin to invest in tech stocks. Mostly the semiconductors. But I'm bright enough not to confuse brains for a bull market. Read Jimmy's books and articles. They are very interesting.
