Tim A. I think you'll find packet networks are a new turf for the circuit switchers. LU, NT, etc.. will have to learn this new technology, so no - they will have a difficult time. Packet switching is far more complex than circuit switching and cicuit switching expertise will help little. Furthermore moving voice over this infrastructure is different as well, so these "old-world" companies will need to re-learn how to package voice for transport. They do however have a lead with the voice interface technology and a lead with their contacts in the carrier nets. Without going into a long dissertation and explanation here I'd give the edge to the data guys. If you need more explanation it'll have to wait until the weekend. Gary (OG)
