This X-mas season's game lineup...

Hi Jeff,

I'm mostly a console gamer (though I do pay some attention to PC games), but this X-mas has definitely got a huge flood of potential-blockbuster games. From a gamer's perspective, it's awfully cool -- but from a publisher's perspective, it means a really crowded market. In fact, Crave Entertainment recently announced that their big X-mas Playstation game (Shadow Madness) will be pushed back to early 1999 to avoid what they see as an over-crowded X-mas game release schedule. Don't know how effective that strategy is (since you miss out on the holiday shopping season), but it is one approach.
