Sire -

A quote from Zvegintzov's piece...

No -- much computer software interprets two-digit years perfectly well. If you are not confused because your driver's license expires in 01, why should a computer be confused?

For one thing a human being reading a driver's license, stock market confirmation, report, etc., brings CONTEXT to that experience. The human implicitly knows they were not alive in 1901... the hardware/software/system brings no such context to the experience... it simply sees that 01 is before 00, not after.

Nicholas is engaging in very nice debating technicques, but his arguments don't hold water.
