Dave -

Actually given that we are on the precipice of a major world wide DEPRESSION the Q isn't doing badly at anywhere in the $50s.

It is now becoming clear to most of us that aren't that bright or foresighted that our Japanese friends, far from being very keen to get their house in order, are in fact quite happy about things. From their point of view so what if the Dow and the NAZ sinks toward its doom. So what if millions of Americans have their retirement hopes sunk. The Japanese are going to get thier own back for all those huge asset deals we sold them and which they later had to sell at a loss.

Get this ......the new Japanese prime minister isn't going to do anything more than the old one did and that wasn't very much. Oh yes a whole load of talk, talk and more talk.... but they aren't going to do anything because it is not in their interest to do so in fact just the opposite.

As far as the next major move....well you can take your choice between:-

A serious Russian collapse

and/or

A default in Indonesia

and/or

A devaluation of the Yuan

One of these is going to happen withing the next month/six weeks and when it does two things will then follow:-

A real ' Correction' in the market

and

Mr Greenspan will finally lower interest rates....too little too late as panic and the realization of how they have held up interest rates at 5% for far too long begin to dawn on them. After that its anyones guess......

Regards,

L
