Hi Scott. I just discovered this thread as I am an investor in Summit Medical (SUMT) at the lovely post crash price of $7 (representing 1.3x cash, 1.1x book value). As you are aware, AMSI's stock price took a plunge with the entire medical software sector. Notable stocks that got wiped out include SUMT, MECN, LRSI, HCIA, and MEDA. Of these stocks the closest three competitors seem to be AMSI, SUMT and LRSI while MECN aspires to be a clinical outcomes player later next year. The only real challenge to SUMT's lead in the cardiac clinical outcomes area appears to be AMSI. (If you know of any other major competitors I've missed please let me know.)

Question: The clinical outcomes area is still growing, however, how will AMSI compete effectively against SUMT which has a greater installed base, more cash resources ($49 million), and more strategic partnerships. I phrase this question from a strategy standpoint since the company with the "best" product does not always win. (Otherwise we'd all be using Apple MACs.)

Thanks for your answer in advance. BTW if you could shed some light on SUMT's weaknesses I would be appreciative. As you can maybe sense I would sell my SUMT stock in a heartbeat if I felt they were venturing down the wrong strategic path!

Regards,
David
