Auric, I really don't know much about puts, or shorting for that matter. I know the principals, but only in theory. I don't short, because I have a difficult time making $$ off of some one else's misfortunes. I have nothing against shorts(sometimes siding with their points), and frequently enjoy debating with them on rational levels. In fact, I'm so bluntly honest in being critical about stocks, I've been tagged "short" on several occasions. Usually by such devoted cheerleaders they would defend a chapter 11 or 7 as something good to come.
