Mark (from Bob),

You really are fun to talk with, this post makes me grin because I can talk about this until you're sound asleep :o).

I personally don't vote for anybody that says their anything until I get a flavor for them as people (ie. voting positions, personal dealings, speaches ... etc). A perfect example is our president, he's a man who claims to be religous. I don't believe his personal life testifies to a strong faith. We all make mistakes, however, a spiritually minded person fesses up to mistakes and tries very hard not to repeat.

If a person is deeply devoted to Christian principals I do believe that is enough to run on. Here's why: The Bible tells us many things in addition to how to be saved. The Bible talks about such topics as:
1. Wisdom
2. Logic
3. Reason
4. Finances
5. Judicial systems
... etc.

The Bible is our handbook for living. Since becoming a Christian I've been applying the Bible to different aspects of my life and have seen unbelievable results. If a person is devoted to God, they will be devoted to their families and their jobs to be the best they can be. That's the kind of person I would like in public office.

Do I think the guys that say they are the Christian right are truly that? NO, not all of them. Many have a history of shady financial dealings as well as marital infidelity.

Ideally, I would like to see a candidate strongly devoted to God that has a significant amount of political experience. But I would rather have a person devoted to God with no political experience in office than an ungodly one with 40 years of experience.

Keep the questions coming, let's have some fun.

Bob
