I truly believed, from conversations with management, that by now we would have a large contract. It has not happened. I was wrong. As a consequence I have suffered significant damage to my net worth, my reputation and my credibility.
What now?
Best case scenario: In the next 2-4 weeks, Q gets the multiyear baseball contract. They get the post-season games. Further contracts follow, in new sports, new countries, maybe even new applications. Questec managment are heroes. We all celebrate and become rich and happy.
Worst case: Further endless, unexplained delays coupled with assurances that everything is OK. Slow erosion of stock price, followed by panic selling as it death-spirals into the single digits. Bankruptcy. Maybe a lawsuit or two.
Which do I feel will happen? The best case scenario, or something very close to it. Since I have consistently been wrong in the past, however, what do I know?
Only time will tell. In the meantime, each week without the Big Announcement will translate into further "buying opportunities".
