I personally think things look kind of bleak for msft right here. The judge will not dismiss the suit, despite the fact that it is overt nonsense and both sides know it. The suit is all about politics intruding on business and technology and if msft loses (which I doubt, but dumber things have happened) it will haunt the stock market and the economy for years at least. Whatever the merits of a suit like this in some old time business like cars or steel it makes zero sense in a fast changing environment like computers. Clearly Clinton wants to take the pressure off his own suit, and cause a recession to start now in the hopes that it is over by 2000 to help the democrats regain Congress and the White House. Not a bad strategy but utterly without morals or decency- in short- classic Clinton. I can't see msft going up in the next few months- I think 110 is now tops. I could see it staying still or maybe drifting back to its solid support around 84. If it does hit the 80's I'm in again bigtime as I think a year from now msft will have a lot of exciting new products ready and selling.
But short term we are looking at some pain and suffering probably.
