Margaret. The up move in Intel last night didn't do too much for the stock today but a lot of the other tech stocks did take it on the chin also. First B. Biggs from Morgan Stanley Dean Witter makes an appearance on CNBC yesterday and tells us the techs will be hit next and then CNBC brings reinforcement from the same Brokerage house - Byron Wien - and he tells us that there is more downside. But at least he thinks that there will be another nice up swing before it gets hit a lot more later this year. But he does not think it is a bear market. I wonder who CNBC will dig up tomorrow. M. Metz and G. Dudack were already on. But who knows, maybe they will show us every Bear again.

There were a lot of rumors floating around about the currencies. Indonesia was supposed to default on some debt but now it is being said it WAS just a rumor. Those guys try everything to bring the market down more. Well, maybe we get another good buying opp. in the tech stocks. Are you pleased the way CPQ is holding up now that you own it?

Have a nice trip to N.O. We will be leaving for a cpl of days with my step daughter and the grandchildren from Seattle. They will be spending the rest of the week down there with Relatives.

Sonny
