WS Journal 8/12/98- Problems with year 2000

I'm new to this board. I read today about a "Test Run" at the Exchanges and Large Investment Companies. According to the test, the stock exchanges and securities processing firms passed the tests,

The securities industry will spend between 5-6 Billion through 1999 to fix the bug.

I think there is merit to this problem. Although many people will make it rich by consulting, the problem does exist.
