TA TA TA TA!
You people interested in TA have got to go out and pick up a quick course in trading and TA, or at least read up on it from a good book. Read the usenet FAQ on trading (I'd post it, but I don't have it). iqc.com Membership was free...I don't know about it now. It lists many good references for books. After you get a feel for the terminology and chart types, and conditions in which to use them, create some charts...all you need is a pencil, calculator, and paper. After you do a few long hand, use a charting program or service. Chart some more and study them. Plot multiple chart types for the same stock/period. Then do some trading using 100% TA on paper (and I stress on paper...TA is not an exact science, and IS NOT FORGIVING). Charts are open to interpretation and imagination. What you read as a "buy" may actually be very bad if you missed something very simple. Even when everything checks out, investments may tank. But you may as well use statistics to your advantage and lower your risk.
Everyone, Check out this site. I've been using it for months now. Sorry, I'm greedy. I don't tell all my secrets (right Janice???) You need to have win95, and a java/plug-in capable viewer...The graphing utilities actually run on your PC (100K download). I use registered Netscape 3.x iqc.com
It's not bad. The best value for the buck (free). Use at your own risk. Remember, in the long run you get what you pay for. It's good for learning though. I'm done, so you guys can have the scrapps. ;-)
Good charts, and TA: Moving Average Stochastics Relative Strength Index Momentum Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) Directional Movement Index (DMI) Ultimate Oscillator Volume
Good stock value search engine. Zacks is better in this respect though.
