There's a new kid on the block called GCTY, and I believe it is laughably overvalued at $1.1 billion.

I've used Geocities...it's fine and all but:

-Competition- lots of it, from AOL, Excite, Xoom, tripod, and more to come.
-Plenty of competition for net advertising, too.
-Simply put, where are the revenues going to be to support this?

Then again I might have said the same thing about AOL...I guess with the right partner anything is possible on the net these days.

Xoom is much better, their web development tools for amateur hacks are nicer.
