Izzy,
I think the biotechs are severely discounted, and have been for a number of months.
Part of this is the radical mood swings the biotech capital markets are prone to.
But, a new element is in play, and that trumps everything.
There is a rolling bear market that is hitting our capital markets in waves. It's been pulling down the small caps for many months, but IMO it will crash into the big caps sometime in the next couple of months. I think there will be very few safe havens, if any, at that point.
This is related to the Asian financial crisis, in that the crisis began there, but I believe it's the beginning of a global financial crisis. I think it's virtually inevitable at this point.
Please note, my view is a decidedly minority view. Most investment specialists would not agree with this view.
I'd suggest you not trade on my analysis, rather I'd do as much homework as quickly as I could to decide whether you think I'm right or wrong in this. I'm no specialist, and could be wildly off base.
Peter
p.s., I got my margin call about a week and a half ago. I took the painful steps necessary to protect myself in case the market declines from here. ouch! : ( |
