Phil, looks like some stores in Japan will be selling iMacs but no other computers, which is a cool concept, frankly.

I don't think there's any way Apple could manufacture 600,000 iMacs by the end of the quarter, but I could see 400,000. I wonder how many stores are even going to have machines available this Saturday? That is, how many stores will get more than they've already presold? However, I'm sure they will set up a demo machine which will lead to more preorders and when more machines come in the next week those will be gone and then the cycle continues ...

I believe $42 is the old resistance level. I'm not sure if Apple has gone up too far, too fast. July 16th was almost a month ago so we've had time to digest the mid-June to mid-July gains. Overbought? Maybe, but there are good reasons for that and as you point out, the buzz should continue. We've got Apple ads, we've got the G3 refresh tomorrow, we've got Apple as a safety stock in this time of market upheaval, and hey, we're actually shipping the damn thing on Saturday!
