I disagree. This stock is not dependent on "the next hot offering". CMGI is a conglomerate of internet related companies and will do well if the rest of the sector does well. Yes, the internets have realized unprecedented gains already, but I do no think this trend is over by any means. With most of the worries in the market stemming from the Asia situation, the internet companies will remain an attractive investment, safely shielded from the woes of Japan, China, Indonesia etc. Also I think the entire dynamic of the market has changed over the last 5 years or so in that money will continue to flow into the market, largely driven by the unwaning interest by individual investors. Until the internet came along, most people played a very passive role in their equity investments. Not true anymore. People are now much more involved and this has heightened enthusiasm, which in turn has resulted in a steady and continuing inflow of cash. CMGI will continue to benefit from all of these things. Anything can happen in the short term but my monay is on the longside.
