ROPER RESOURCES, INC. TO CHANGE ITS NAME AND OPEN VANCOUVER SALES OFFICE

VANCOUVER, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - Roper Resources Inc. (ASE:RRN) announces that in consideration of its acquisition of the Canadian distribution rights of the Life-line(TM) from Safe Environment Engineering, LP; and, the pending recommencement of negotiations for acquisition of an interest in the California manufacturer of wireless monitoring equipment. Safe Environment has granted the right to Roper to use the Safe Environment name and associated logos and trademarks. As a result, Roper has commenced application with the
Alberta Stock Exchange to change its name to SAFE ENVIRONMENT ENGINEERING, CANADA, INC. and will apply to change its trading symbol. The Directors of Roper Resources Inc., have called for a meeting of the shareholders of Roper to vote on the pending name change, to take place on Friday, September 25, 1998. Shareholders will receive notice by mail of time and location of the meeting.

Roper will open a Vancouver sales office for Life-line(TM) products on September 1, 1998. Recruiting for sales and support personnel has begun, and it is expected that a complete operation will be in place in time for the opening of the new office.

Safe Environment (USA) Announces Appointments

Safe Environment Engineering, LP announces the appointment of Michael Ewing as its Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, effective July 27, 1998. Mr. Ewing brings a distinguished career of over 24 years of marketing high-tech, computer related products, to Safe Environment. Among Mr. Ewing's impressive accomplishments is his record of dramatically increased sales and exposures to his representative product lines. Most recently Mr. Ewing was Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Gensource, Incorporated out of Valencia, California. Gensource, a wholly owned division of Incomnet, Inc., develops and markets insurance related software products. Previous to that assignment Mr. Ewing was the Western United States Regional Manager for Vmark Software, Inc. of Boston, MA. Vmark develops and markets database technology.

Mr. Ewing shall be responsible for establishing Safe Environment's new market strategy and shall oversee the marketing efforts of Roper Resources Inc., who holds the Canadian distribution rights of the Life-line(TM) product line.

Safe Environment Engineering (USA) Begins Shipments to Boeing

The first segment of Phase 1 of The Boeing Company's order of Life-line (TM) products was shipped on July 28, 1998. The shipment included a Main Monitoring Console and two Surrogate Log-On stations. Expected to be completed no later than August 2, 1998, Phase 1 shipments will include several units of the recently announced new Portable Safety Monitor (PSM), which is considerably smaller than its predecessor. First installation of the Life-line system is expected to begin at Boeing's Aircraft Maintenance
Facility in Everett, Washington during the first week of September.
