Hello Jan Crawley and others:
I am looking at CBOE quotes at
cboe.pcquote.com
and see about 1000 contracts, 72 traded today. If you thought the stock is going higher, each contract is for 100 shares, one would buy 1 contract per hundred shares. The cost is commissions plus the price times 100. If you thought AMZN was going lower between now and expiration 8-22-98, one could sell the contract--with exposure to loss if it goes higher. I would have expected 1 to 3 points premium for this contract.
Best regards,
m
