Jim, 1. They are not just looking at "prices just edging up ", they are looking at the bottoming of semi. So they want to be in now for the future action. 2. Large short position is the biggest thereat to shorts. Rev. doesn't matter, liquidity matters more. So daily trading #s x ? days = short #s. So it might be 9days for MU now. 3. Once short covers , price might drop a little bit and shorts short more. Then price inches up a little more, shorts get panic. on and on. That's called "momentum short stocks." I warned you guys earlier that MU has history of being one once dram inch up. later, InSook
