Hello Eric,

<I thought the InternetWare and IntraNetware products were classified as "Web Servers". Do these other 'servers' run ontop on NetWare?>

IntranetWare is NetWare v4.11 based product, Part of the of IntranetWare package includes a Web server (HTTP.NLM) which like any other NLM loads from server console. It takes about 5 - 10 minutes to configure TCPIP and load the Web server, so yes it runs on top of NetWare.

<Can somebody explain the technical relationship here? Do you need both to run InterNetware products?>

Yes you need to be running NetWare as the Web server loads as an NLM, It is just the same as running Microsoft IIS - You need to be running NT first.

<If so, is Novell developing or sells a similiar product or do they promote one of the following 3rd party servers? Which ones?>

As far as Web SERVERS go we only develop/promote our own as at this time. As for Web BROWSERS we do provide Netscape Navigator v3.0 as part of the IntranetWare package. i.e. 1000 license IntranetWare\1000 Licensed browers.

Incase you missed the press announcement, the Novell Web Server v3.0 has just entered open beta. You can download it from the Novell web site from Dec 16, it will be released 1st 1/4 97.

Novell Web Server v3.0 includes new features such as SSL, Multi Homing & Virtual directories, to register for the open beta support.novell.com
