ViewSonic Monitors - refurbished

There is a store near my home that sells refurbished
ViewSonic Monitors. Most of them just have a cosmetic defect
in the casing. They have a 1 yr warranty.

17" P775 - $220
19" - 419
20" - $399
21" - choice of G810, P810, P815, PT813 - $500
29" - $600

Am I stupid to put $500 into a Viewsonic 21" with a 1 yr warrenty?

For trading purposes what 21" monitor would be the best?
The Viewsonic lady said - the P815 due to less returns/complaints. The PT813 has an aperature grill,is brighter
but less sharp, so she says. She really liked the 19".

I am use to working on a 17". To all, is 21" just too much screen
to look at? Are they too bulky? What would the equivalent resolution be on a 21" compared to 800x600 resolution on a 17"?

Does everyone agree that 21" monitors are preferable?

Thanks,
S.W.
