Wipe the drool off your chin and quit thinking chicken.

IMO the short interest is very dynamic.

The 8 to 10 million shorted shares do not represent the same positions over the past 12 months.

Now in agreement with your point about the shorts having large profits locked in: Yes so why not cover and go short some other small cap stock and make a lot more money rather than just sitting on the same position?
