For one who dislikes the judgemental, it sounds like you are holding out a pretty harsh judgement for ol' Emile. Just kidding. He might agree. I imagine god could order the universe and expiation any way he wants. Why blood? Why not blood? Why crucify anybody, least of all your own son? With 'the son' being part of the godhead, god crucifies himself. The 'son' is relational, not seperate and derivative. This is the old homoousian-homoiousian controversy, where there's an iota's bit of difference. It separates the Arians from the Trinitarians. You're right, it all hangs on whether we are born tabula rasa or wicked by nature.
