Of course I agree, but that's not what you said. You said you were concerned with the growth of the stock (presumably increasing stock price) regardless of earnings. That is what I found odd.

The price behavior of the stock over the past several weeks is a twitch, and has no special significance. Look at the price of Dell from last August through November. Do you see that Dell actually declined from around 54 to 36? What, if anything, did that portend?

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Has the pudding gone rancid as far as you can see. Does the current economic climate portend decreased PC sales, or does the pressure that Dell is exerting on its competitors (such as HWP per John Rosser's excellent analysis) perhaps presage the exit of one or more of these competitors from Dell's niche?

Watching prices over a short period of time is like seeing shapes of animals in clouds. Are you seeing an illusory bear? The point I was trying to make is that the earnings outlook is bright, and there is no reason to believe that long term interest rates will increase anytime soon. So what's the basis of the fear?
