I predicted in the previous post that we probably have 400,000 - 600,000 iMac sold in Q4. If you don't agree, then what's yours?

I don't have a prediction phil. I don't even have a model for making such a prediction. That was my whole point. There are too many variables to make such a model. And I sure wont be holding my breath to hear yours.

You mentioned 150,000 sold is pent-up demand which may be true but no rational base, then you mentioned those orders was majorly ordered by schools, again no rational base.

No rational base huh? A "pre-order" is by definition an example of pent-up demand. There is nothing to debate about that. The very reason the iMac was announced 3 MONTHS EARLY was to cultivate this pent up demand. And the very reason that pre-orders are accepted is to capture the pent-up demand. I don't think it's difficult to see that capturing some of this years education sales was the primary motivator for announcing the iMac three months early, and for taking pre-orders.

Do you believe as I do that the iMac will be popular in education? Aug 15 is late in the education buying season. If you were the person whose job depends on making sure there is a lab full of computers ready for the start of school what would you do? Would you pre-order them, or would you just call Apple Education or show up at a CompUSA on Aug 15 and hope they have 50 of them sitting on the shelf? You would have to pre-order them of course. Without any way to make sure you'd get the machines you might decide to buy something else. Are these far out concepts to you? The only thing that i'm seeing with no rational base is your 600,000 in Q4 prediction.

Let's settle down the dispute regarding iMac sales amount in the current quarter.

Lets settle down the hype that insults the readers intelligence.
