NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Adams Golf Inc. (ADGO) created the Tight Lies fairway
clubs to try to meet the needs of its golfing clientele, according to Chief
Executive Barney Adams.
"As a business, we were custom fitters ... and this really was a response to
their questions," Adams said in an interview on CNBC Monday. "It was strictly
an idea to help my customers on the driving range."
Despite the club's success and strong earnings for its most recent quarter,
Adams Golf has seen its stock decline significantly since going public earlier
last month. "We got rewarded by having our stock go in the tank," Adams said.
The shares, which were as high as 18 7/8 on July 10, their first day of
trading, were recently unchanged at 9 3/4, not far from their 52-week low of 9
set a week ago.
But rather than worrying about the stock price, Adams said the company will
work to develop more golfing products.

08/06 DJ Adams Golf's Two New Fairway Woods In Stores In Sept. >ADGO
PLANO, Texas (Dow Jones)--Adams Golf Inc. (ADGO) said its two new Tight Lies
fairway woods will be available to retailers in early September.
In a press release Thursday, Adams Gold said the Tight Lies Strong 2 Tour
Brassie wood has 12 degrees of loft and the Tight Lies Strong 11-wood has 32
degrees of loft.
Adams Golf designs, manufactures and markets golf clubs.
