loking for a horse with three legs can help, but i don't think it is easier to pick a better short. i have made money shorting and lost money short. i have made more buying and holding a well researched company and swing at the sell pitch. i could not short the stock that had given me such great returns. If i had i would have gained another 50%. bottom line is the market is a zero sum game. for one who does not have a lot of time it is vastly easier to buy and hold than research and margin and short.
